Policy and Objectives Under the ZBR
STATEMENT
by the Management of VIK Burgas on Policy and Objectives under the Biological Diversity Act
Our mission is to create working conditions in the course of the company’s operations that meet, to the greatest extent possible, the requirements of legal and other standards regarding occupational health and safety (OHS).
By assuming its responsibility for establishing, maintaining, and continuously improving the OSH Management System, management declares the following core principles, which form the basis of the OSH policy:
- Alignment with the Nature and Scope of Risks—We recognize our responsibility and strive to ensure healthy and safe working conditions by identifying hazards and assessing and managing OSH risks;
- Continuous improvement—a key objective of the OSH System, which can be achieved through continuous monitoring of process flows, reducing the risk of occupational illnesses, accidents, and incidents in the workplace, as well as effectively and efficiently improving OSH performance by implementing appropriate and effective corrective and preventive measures;
- Compliance with applicable legislation—the company is obligated to comply with the applicable regulatory framework as well as other OHS requirements;
- Documentation, Implementation, and Maintenance – Management is committed to ensuring that all processes covered by the OSH Management System are documented, implemented, and kept up to date;
- Communication and Employee Engagement – Management communicates the information security policy and related objectives and strives to create appropriate conditions that encourage employees to participate fully and take initiative in carrying out their duties. Management believes that the company’s most valuable resource is its people.
- Accessibility of the policy – the OSH policy is accessible to every employee, as well as to all external stakeholders, and will be made available for review at any time;
- Process-based approach – the healthy and safe working conditions created by the company result from the interplay of interconnected core and supplementary processes, which are viewed and managed as a system rather than in isolation;
- Fact-based decision-making approach—the OHSMS’s communication and management systems provide the foundation for making decisions based on up-to-date information;
By achieving our primary objective—the continuous improvement of health and safety conditions at work within the company and compliance with existing requirements in this area — we ensure the achievement of the additional objectives we have set for ourselves:
- Maximizing compliance with legal and other standards regarding occupational health and safety in a manner that minimizes risks to all personnel, subcontractors, partners, and all other stakeholders;
- Reducing the level of risk—ensuring there are no workplaces or activities involving unacceptable risk;
- Making sufficient investments in occupational health and safety;
- To use raw materials, materials, technologies, machinery, and equipment that are environmentally friendly and harmless to human health, as attested by the relevant certification;
- To provide continuous training and professional development for staff.
Company management guarantees that:
- the organization has the necessary resources to establish, maintain, and develop an Occupational Health and Safety Management System;
- it is committed to ensuring that the implemented Occupational Health and Safety Management System operates in accordance with the requirements of ISO 45001. February 6, 2023 Chief Executive Officer:
