DECLARATION
by the Management of VIK Burgas on Environmental Policy and Objectives
Our primary objective is to establish a system of process management and work organization within the company that ensures the protection of the environment.
By assuming its responsibility for the establishment, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Environmental Management System (EMS), management declares the following core principles, which form the basis of the EMS policy:
- Alignment with the nature of our operations and their environmental impacts—We are aware of our responsibility and strive to ensure, to the greatest extent possible, the accurate identification of environmental aspects and potential risks arising from our operations;
- Continuous improvement of environmental protection and pollution prevention—a key objective of the EMS, which can be achieved through continuous monitoring of process operations, reducing the risk of pollution, and effectively and efficiently improving environmental management performance - Compliance with applicable legislation—the company is committed to complying with the applicable regulatory framework as well as other environmental requirements;
- Documentation, Implementation, and Maintenance – Management is committed to ensuring the documentation, implementation, and maintenance of the EMS;
- Communication and Employee Engagement – Management communicates the EMS policy and related objectives and strives to create appropriate conditions that encourage employees to participate fully and take initiative in carrying out activities.
- Accessibility of the policy – the policy is accessible to every employee, as well as to all external stakeholders and the public, and will be made available for review at any time upon request;
- Process- and fact-based approach – the company’s operating rules are the result of interconnected core and supplementary processes, which are viewed and managed as a system rather than in isolation. Decisions and actions are based on objective data and facts.
Company management is committed to achieving high quality in its products and services, but not at any cost; rather, only through strict compliance with all regulatory requirements regarding the Quality Management System (QMS) and with guaranteed protection of the environment.
Management is committed to the following objectives:
- Thoroughly studying and complying with legal requirements regarding environmental management;
- Reducing the risk of pollution from waste generated by core operations;
- Motivating and training staff regarding environmental management; - Modernizing methods for waste collection, storage, and transport by implementing separate waste collection systems.
Company management ensures that:
- the organization has the necessary resources to establish, maintain, and develop an Environmental Management System;
