Testing Laboratory
Testing Laboratory at “Water Supply and Sewerage” EAD - Burgas is a modern laboratory complex equipped with state-of-the-art analytical equipment and staffed by a team of highly qualified specialists in the field of water analysis.
The laboratory is accredited in accordance with BDS EN ISO/IEC 17025 as a testing laboratory and holds a certificate issued by the Bulgarian Accreditation Service (BAS).

Within the scope of its competence, the Laboratory performs sampling and analysis of drinking water, groundwater, surface water, and wastewater.
The testing laboratory is organized into two units—the “Drinking Water” sector and the “Wastewater” sector:
The “Drinking Water” Sector performs sampling, chemical, and microbiological analysis of drinking water, groundwater, and surface water for:
- monitoring and controlling the quality of drinking water supplied by the Company, in accordance with the requirements of Ordinance No. 9 of March 16, 2001, on the quality of water intended for drinking and domestic use;
- monitoring and studying the water sources operated by “V and K” EAD – Burgas;

laboratory testing of water quality following the resolution of emergencies and the completion of repairs to the water supply system. The “Wastewater” Sector performs sampling and chemical analysis of wastewater for:

monitoring and controlling wastewater quality in accordance with the individual discharge permits for all wastewater treatment plants operated by “V and K” EAD – Burgas;
- monitoring industrial wastewater discharged into the municipal sewer system and into municipal wastewater treatment plants, in accordance with Ordinance No. 7 of November 14, 2000, on the conditions and procedures for the discharge of industrial wastewater into the sewer systems of populated areas. In addition to laboratory activities performed for “V i K” EAD – Burgas, the Testing Laboratory also provides laboratory services upon client request for a fee, in accordance with the attached Price List.
